3rd European Workshop on Sea Buckthorn «EuroWorkS 2014», Finland

The Conference «Producing Quality Sea Buckthorn» was hold in Naantali, Finland (October 14-16 2014). The conference was organized in a workshop format to allow more time for discussion of important subjects. Representatives from 12 European countries participated in the Conference. Natalia Demidova from our institute took part in the Conference.
Keynote speakers introduced general themes and specific problems which were discussed in small groups. In the end of each workshop conclusion was driven. During this conference we focused on three main areas of interest:
Workshop I: Pests and Diseases of Sea Buckthorn – our main concern is Sea Buckthorn fly
► “Sea Buckthorn Fly (Rhagoletis batava) in Barnaul area”, Dr. Ljubov Shamanskaya, Lisavenko Institute, Barnaul, Russia.
► “Experiences of integrated management of European Cherry Fruit Fly (Rhagoletis cerasi) and how to utilize this knowledge for Sea Buckthorn Fly”, Dr. Claudia Daniel, Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL), Frick, Switzerland
Workshop II: Cultivation Technology in Europe – meeting the needs of growers
