The main directions of research:

  1. Improvement of risk management as a factor of increasing sustainability of forest management in Arkhangelsk region;
  2. Development and realization of measures to satisfy the forest resources requirements of regions, to provide efficient usage of natural resources, conservation of natural objects possessing particular environmental, scientific, cultural and recreational significance;
  3. Development of standards for municipal forests management: protection and exploitation;
  4. Preparation of suggestions to improve “Regulations of timber harvesting”, “Regulations of forest maintenance”, “Regulations of reforestation”, in particular differentiation of standards of mentioned documents according to natural-climatic conditions;
  5. Working out the problem of large-scale forest decline in the interfluves of Northern Dvina and Pinega to reveal the causes and forecast consequences in different scenarios of forestry development;
  6. Artificial reforestation, forest certification, forest management.
